This year, more than ever, the children living in women’s shelters for domestic abuse need our support. Shelters are incurring higher expenses to protect their vulnerable community with health and safety protocols and victims are experiencing a greater threat as many are being confined to their homes with their abusers. Calls to shelters seeking refuge have soared by up to 36% in some places in the COVID aftermath.
The holiday season is a particularly challenging time for families and individuals. Single mothers living in shelters with their children don’t always have the resources to fulfill their child's holiday wishes and needs. With your help and participation, The Toy Tea will once again be able to take care of children all over the province of Quebec living in shelters.
For the past 30 years, the Toy Tea has provided more than 5,000 youngsters in the province of Quebec with new, non-violent toys for the holidays. We are a registered non-profit charity and a 100% volunteer-based organization, with no salaried positions.
